Need to Get Rid of Pimples? Try These Tips
Pimples are the nemesis of both teenagers and many adults. Although these blemishes are a natural occurrence, it is still embarrassing to have them and many of us just want to hide our faces all day so no one will notice them. With a few tricks, however, you can get rid of pimples faster and help prevent them from coming back.
- On way to get rid of pimples is to leave them alone when they develop. Many of us cannot resist the temptation of picking and poking at our pimples when they form – resist the urge! Although it may give you a sense of satisfaction and make you feel like you are helping to get rid of the pimples faster, pressing and rubbing them will only serve to spread the bacteria that causes the pimples to form in the first place. In addition, you risk the possibility of scarring your skin.
- Another way to get rid of pimples and to keep them gone is to wash your face on a regular basis with mild soap. For oily skin, you might want to select a soap containing benzoyl peroxide because it will help to dry out your skin.
You should also avoid using rough sponges or brushes on your face. Although you might want to scrape those zits off, using something abrasive on your skin will increase the chances of tearing the pimples and spreading the bacteria. It can also be quite irritating to sensitive skin.
- Another mistake that many pimple sufferers make is trying to cover the blemishes up with make-up, which only serves to further aggravate the skin. If you absolutely must wear make-up, make sure it is water-based rather than oil-based.
- The last way to get rid of pimples is to spot treat the problem area. Even when there are no pimples in the area, spot treat those areas that are prone to acne in order to prevent breakouts from occurring. This way, you can remove the excess oil and the area will no longer be the ideal breeding ground for bacteria to form.
By following these simple steps on a routine basis, you will be able to significantly reduce the amount of acne outbreaks you experience. In addition, when acne does develop on your skin, you will be able to get rid of it more quickly and more efficiently!
