What is the Best Acne Face Wash? These Three are Good Bets
You’ll have to experiment to find the best acne face wash for you. Everyone’s skin composition and tolerance is different.
Benzoyl peroxide based products are some of the best out there. However, some peple can handle the bleaching agent and some cannot. Start with a low concentration (2.5% or lower) and see what happens to you skin in the treated area(s) over a four to six week period
Here’s ome of the products we’ve found on the market that are quite good to use as an acne fash wash. Your mileage may vary so draw your own conclusions. Also, you may find using more than one product or solution works best for you. Feel free to experiment but give the experiments time to work - 4 to 6 weeks.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash:
Our experience indicates this is one of the best products out there on the market. Works good and gentle on our skin. The active ingredient is Salicylic acid but it comes in a rather low dosage of only 2%, meaning this is quite a mild cleanser.
Here’s on excerpt from the Neutrogena website: “Neutrogena oil free acne wash rinses clean leaving no pore-clogging residue. Neutrogena oil free acne wash contains skin comforters that soothe and condition and help prevent irritation.”
Try this product. You may find similar good results! A 6 oz bottle costs around $6.
Clearasil Daily Facial Wash:
Clearasil Daily Facial Wash is one of the original acne face wash treatments. It is well known and sold in supermarket chains around the world. Clearasil Daily Facial Wash is a soap replacement with a foaming ingredient which is used to wash dirt and oil away. And the price is good too. We’ve found an average price of about $4.50 for a 6.5 oz bottle.
Purpose Gentle Cleansing Acne Wash:
This face wash is dermatologist recommended so it might be a good one to try too. No soap so it won’t dry out your skin. It’s also hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog those pores. The manufacturer claims it can be used twice a day by those with sensitive skin and we found that to be true in our tests.
The active ingredients are: Water, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Lauroampho PG-Acetate Phosphate, Fragrance, Quatermium-15, Tetrasodium EDTA
So what is the best acne face wash?
We’ve only mentioned three products here and there a bunch more out there on the market. Still, of the three acne face washes above, we’d go with the Clearasil Daily Facial Wash. But as stated above, your skin type and tolerance levels will indicate which is the best acne face wash for you.
Try some of these out and see the difference they can make to your skin.
